Facile Functionalization of Charcoal by a Green Approach

چکیده
The ability of charcoal, a low-cost material derived from biomass pyrolysis, to be functionalized via cation exchange in an aqueous solution, providing new interesting fillers with possible antimicrobial and flame-retardant properties, is discussed here. adducts obtained through this sustainable procedure, show significant uptake close 30% by weight well-known quaternary phosphonium salts, tetraphenyl bromide, dodecyl triphenyl bromide. materials were characterized elemental analysis, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry.
